Our
introduction to miniature horses began when we decided to
purchase Dawn, who was in foal. At three
our granddaughter, Sunny had already been riding for two years
and loved horses.
We
wanted her to have a horse she could handle and grow with so the
miniatures were perfect. We did not have a farm but were looking
for an area to relocate to where we would be able to have
animals. By the time we found a place to live, Dawn had had her
foal, Sunny’s Rosebud. So in August
2003, as happens with miniatures, Dawn and Rosebud plus five
more were delivered by Rocky
Mountain Miniatures. What a wonderful day.
Shortly thereafter
we started talking to Darcy and Randy at Imprint
Miniatures and before you know it along came Diamond
and Dream and Toni
and oh, Taffi is so darling, why
not. We were now “into” minis and the more we were
around
our
original herd; the more we loved these wonderful little
horses. The more we got to know and talk to breeders the
more we realized we would really like to get seriously
involved in our own breeding program at Sunnyvale.
We have added
several proven brood mares with well known bloodlines
and three exciting new stallions and are now
enthusiastically anticipating our Sunnyvale foals.
Our goal is to produce show
quality miniatures with both beauty and excellent
temperaments. We are
very grateful that Miniature Horses have become a big
part of our lives and would like to share with others how wonderful
they are.
Our
granddaughter and newest recruit is baby Kaia who at only 6
weeks is already enjoying her first ride at the farm on
Darling.
